  • Can an accelerating PM synchronous motor (with "pre-exciter") provide reactive VARs for a linear induction generator?
  • Iron nitride earth-abundant supermagnets; grant-mongering B.S. or cheap replacement for Halbach array NIB?

  • Programmable motor control integrated circuits: Sensor inputs, Calculation/Communication, Gate driver outputs?

Sources desired:

  • Practical/empirical motor design books with complete models, simulated (and measured?)
    • detailed examples with theory/math AND parameter characterization:
      • iron saturation, heat, breakout torque, tolerances
    • how does abstract design translate to actual motors and generators?
    • What fails? What is inaccurate or misleading in typical designs?
  • Inductrack - estimate ultrahigh speed drag/lift ratio (skin effect)
    • Power = radians × ρ × v³ / LD ( LD must be >> 1e5 )

    • predictive/adaptive electronic control instead: global stability, loop gain, computation, and redundancy
  • 3D Motor FEM modelling? Open source or Linux-compatible strongly preferred
