Aircraft Launch Loop
Wild brainfart, undeveloped.
A much lower speed rotor, 100 to 1000 meter scale, storing enough kWhrs to launch small photovoltaic-assist electric aircraft. The goal is to provide goods transport and delivery for the developing world, especially places lacking roads or surrounded by hostile territory. No runways; launch and land on a long velocity-transformer rail, connected to a power storage loop in a small-diameter underground tunnel, recharged from photovoltaic arrays above. The rail will behave like a very slow launch loop. The EV aircraft will be small, slow, and numerous, with sensors and piloting software on the aircraft so that trained pilots are unnecessary.
This will scale up to power storage for villages and rural factories, and then large grid-scale power storage loops.
